The 2004 Push Pin Show

Atlanta photographers brought un-matted prints to the gallery for this annual gallery fund-raiser. Prints were attached to the wall with push pins, pizza was served, and a good time was had by all. A small entry fee was charged.

Photographer's Choice 2004 (Annual Members Show)
February 27 – March 26, 2004
Over 60 Atlanta Photographers were represented in this annual members show. This is the one yearly show for all members of APG. Each member can enter one image – if they get their entry form in by the deadline. Many photographers show a favorite image that doesn't quite fit within a body of work. It is an opportunity to see photographs that might never be shown otherwise.
Photo-Op

An auction of photographs was held in the APG Gallery. Collectible photography was available for very good prices. Don't miss out on the next one in 2006.
Georgia Photographers Only 2004
April 16 – May 21, 2004
Juried by Marianne Fulton, Executive Director of the Light Factory, Charlotte, N. C. Four photographers were chosen to show a representative sample of a body of work. This show is an opportunity to see a good sampling of several local photographers work.
Flea Market
May 29, 2004
The Atlanta Photography Group sponsored a Photo Flea Market on Saturday May 29th at the APG Gallery in Tula. Peachtree Camera & Video repair provided free cleaning and inspections of any type cameras. There were great bargain on darkroom equipment. Fans of darkroom work should watch for the next flea market as the digital revolution continues.
Women In Focus 2004

Curated by Ben Apfelbaum, Director of Exhibitions, Spruill Art Center. The theme of the show was "Nothing says Loving like Something from the Oven" This show was an opportunity for regional women photographers to show their best work in reaction to the show's theme.
Alternative Photography 2004
July 30 – September 10, 2004
Juried by Donald Keyes. This show is hosted by APG's EPAT group (Explorations in Photography and Technology). EPAT pioneered the use of digital photographic techniques and was formed as a special interest group in the late 1990's. This annual show is an opportunity for all photographers working with alternative methods to show their work. Each photographer submits 10 images. The juror often selects several images from the portfolios of those selected for the show.

Anna Walker Skillman selected several prints created in the year 2004 for exhibition, representing 38 Atlanta artists. This biennial show is unique in that jurying is done of finished, framed pieces. Each photographer delivers up to two framed works to the gallery. Out of hundreds of entries, the juror builds a show representing his or her approach to photography. The juror in 2004 was the owner of Jackson Fine Art gallery in Atlanta, Georgia – one of Atlanta's premier photography galleries.
Southern Photographers 2004

Katherine Ware, Curator of Photographs at the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s Alfred Stieglitz Center for Photography in the Department of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs selected the work of five photographers.
This show represented the work of Southern photographers who do not use typical Southern themes in their work.
