BIOGRAPHY
Alison Nordström
Alison Nordstrom was the Director and Senior Curator of the Southeast Museum of Photography in Daytona Beach from 1991 to 2001.She previously held positions at the Brattleboro (Vermont) Museum & Art Center and the Peabody Museum, Harvard.She holds a BA in English Literature, an MLS with museum emphasis, and a PhD in Cultural and Visual studies with a dissertation on popular photography of the Gilded Age.
She has curated over 100 exhibitions of photography including the SMP Biennial Fresh Work. She is the author of more than fifty catalogue essays and monographs and of numerous chapters, articles and reviews in academic publications such as "exposure" "History of Photography" and the "Oxford History of the Photograph".
She was an International Partnerships among Museums Fellow at the Australian Centre for Photography in 1992, an NEH Fellow at City University of New York in 1993, and an Ansel Adams Fellow at the Centre for Creative Photography, University of Arizona in 1998.
