Marianne Fulton

Marianne Fulton, internationally recognized for her 30- year career in photography was named the first artistic director of The Light Factory. Fulton moved in March, 2003 from Rochester, NY and her job as senior scholar at George Eastman House [which houses approximately 500,000 photographs in the photographic collection].

She worked at GEH rising through the ranks of curatorship to senior curator of photography, chief curator, acting director and senior scholar. During those years she originated and curated more than 80 exhibitions and also was responsible for hanging loan exhibitions. Her books include,“The Wise Silence: Photographs by Paul Caponigro”; award winning
“Mary Ellen Mark: 25 Years”, and “Eyes of Time: Photojournalism in America” for which Fulton received the Leica Medal of Excellence and was named Person of the Year.

She has lectured around the world and is corresponding editor for The Digital Journalist, and on the Advisory board for the W. Eugene Smith award.
