About APG
The Not For Tourist Guide and APG

The APG Gallery was selected by the New York-based Not For Tourists Guide as one of the few galleries in Atlanta that has to be visited!
The APG Gallery
The Atlanta Photography Group (APG) hosts photographic exhibitions throughout the year in its gallery space at the Tula Art Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Most shows are juried by well-known photography curators, gallery owners and experts.
Monthly Meetings
APG hosts critiques, discussions and meetings every month at the gallery. These monthly meetings provide members with opportunities to receive valuable feedback on their work, discuss photography with their peers, and increase their knowledge of the photographic medium.
Member Benefits
APG members receive free entry to special events, discounts on exhibition fees, learn new skills, and increase their photographic knowledge. Learn more about the benefits of APG membership.
Goals & Activities
APG's primary goal is to promote and support contemporary photography as a significant art form. It seeks to challenge photographic conventions, stimulate new thinking and exploration of experimental forms of photographic expression.
These goals are supported through a wide range of activities that are overseen by a Board of Directors, an Advisory Board and a Curatorial Panel drawn from the Atlanta photographic community.
The Atlanta Photography Group (APG) is an artist-initiated 501(c)(3) nonprofit membership organization.
Collector Prints
Every year, a hand-picked collection of photographs is assembled into a limited-edition Collector Prints. These portfolios are only available for a few years to those who support APG at higher levels of membership. Find out more.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers keep the APG Gallery open. They also plan, hang and host shows, lead critiques, create flyers and mailings, and maintain this web site.
You can join in the fun by volunteering only a few hours every month. Learn new things and develop new skills. Find out how to run a gallery, or why some photos are chosen over others, or how to plan and promote exciting photographic events. Or you can simply come to our critiques and talk all you want about photography.
Most volunteer efforts require only a few hours a month, but offer experiences rarely found elsewhere while providing the deep satisfaction of having contributed to the greater Atlanta community.
Expand your horizons and help the APG:
- Tend the gallery and meet interesting people
- Install shows and learn how to hang artwork
- Provide support at openings and join in the fun
- Handle art during jurying and find out why some work is rejected
- Write for the web site and/or newsletter and see your name published
- Help plan future exhibitions and make a difference throughout the year
- Help with promotional efforts
- Attend group critiques
Call 404-605-0605 for more information, or attend one of our monthly meetings.
